Nicola Tune
EAST RIDING FA UNSUNG HERO OF THE MONTH – FERBRUARY 2025
The East Riding FA Unsung Hero of the Month award recognizes individuals in our county who are going above and beyond to create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for people to play and enjoy football.
We know that grassroots football in our county is supported by an amazing group of people who put their heart and soul into supporting the game for the benefit of others. This award is our way of recognizing and celebrating their efforts.
The winner of this month’s award is Nicola Tune.
Nicola recently took on the roles of Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer of Longhill Ravens, a club which is currently has eight teams and is based in the East of Hull.
As a local resident Nicola understands the important role the club plays and she is committed to providing more opportunities for people from her community to play and volunteer in grassroots football.
Nicola works tirelessly for the benefit of others, and she always put the needs of others before her own. She shows tremendous dedication to her role as a key club official, and Nicola is recognised for her fairness, honesty and integrity.
Whilst Nicola has taken on the key roles at the club, she already set about sourcing new volunteers to assist her with the day to day running of the club. Nicola is always on the end of the phone, and she is fully committed to ensuring the clubs members adhere to policies such as the codes of conduct.
Clubs and Participation Officer Chris Johnson said, “Nicola was already tremendously busy with her work and family life but that hasn’t stopped her from taking on this vital volunteering role. Nicola takes great pride in making sure that the club’s members are connected to the club, and she has faced many challenges along the way but she works hard to overcome them.”
Nicola will now be nominated for an award at the 2025 Grassroots Football Awards.
