Equal Game Ambassador Appointed
Welcome Lindsey Romeniuk
We are delighted to announce Lindsey Romeniuk is joining the East Riding FA as our Equal Game Ambassador.
This role will support clubs to become female friendly by creating pathways that encourage females to play or volunteer in grassroots football.
One of The FA’s ‘game-changer’ objectives from the 2020-24 Grassroots Football Strategy is to ensure that girls have equal access to football, in both schools and clubs. The Equal Game Ambassadors role is to provide England Football Accredited football clubs with off-field support in creating, maintaining and developing their female offer to ensure there are inclusive, safe and accessible opportunities available for all girls.
This role is aligned to the introduction of the new ‘Equal Game’ training programme which is designed to upskill club volunteers to be motivated, knowledgeable, confident and capable to develop more club-based opportunities for women and girls to play, coach, volunteer and / or spectate.
Lindsey has extensive knowledge of how to increase female provision through her time volunteering at Wilberfoss Mavericks JFC and is looking forward to getting started, “I’m thrilled to be working alongside East Riding FA to increase girls participation in grassroots clubs. It’s so important they are given the same opportunities as boys and I hope to be able to make a big improvement in our County.”
East Riding CEO Adam Lowthorpe said, "We are committed to creating equal access for females to participate in grassroots football in our county and the appointment of an Equal Game Ambassador will help us achieve that".
