With Black History Month coming to a close we want to celebrate and highlight the role of Justin Pierre-Robert our counties Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Community Champion.
The position was created to ensure that we have a skilled and empathetic workforce which can identify, recruit and support new coaches and volunteers from under-represented communities across grassroots football.
For Justin though the role is much than just a job, it’s a subject that he cares about deeply with him already involved in grassroots football as a coach.
Justin brings a huge wealth of experience to the role with him currently serving Humberside Police as a Positive Action Officer. A position which sees him go into ethnically diverse settings such as schools, colleges and workplaces along with places of worship with the aim of recruiting more police officers and staff.
The role also involves Justin mentoring people with protected characteristics upon applying to work with Humberside Police with him also supporting and helping current members of staff to achieve a promotion or specialism.
Away from work Justin also volunteers as a grassroots football coach at Gilberdyke Phoenix U9s and with Howden AFC and has extensive knowledge of coaching and the many challenges that coaches face.
