EAST RIDING FA CLUB OF THE MONTH – NOVEMBER 2024

The East Riding FA Club of the Month award recognizes the clubs in our county who are going above and beyond to create a fun, safe and inclusive environment for people to play and enjoy football.

The winner of this month’s award is Beverley Town.

Beverley Town is a two star England Football Accredited club and currently have 36 affiliated teams and close to 550 registered players.

Located in one of the counties biggest towns the club has being providing countless opportunities for people to access and play football over a great number of years with Beverley Town currently boasting a full male pathway, female teams and a disability section.

Beverley Town is underpinned by a robust network of volunteers who work incredibly hard to make it sustainable despite the many economic challenges they encounter. This includes the club having teams playing out of 10 different venues.

The willingness to overcome these challenges though means that this is a club that continues to grow with their positive club ethos and organisational structure helping them attract new players and volunteers.

As one of the first clubs in the county to complete their England Football accreditation renewal Beverley Town are credited with following several FA initiatives and campaigns particularly in respect to safeguarding which means that people can play and volunteer in a safe and fun environment.

The club has also recently made a foray into step 6 and now step 5 football with the club’s senior men’s side which in itself is a mammoth undertaking with a huge amount of off field activity facilitating the rise.

Club secretary Gary Proud, the rest of the committee and countless other volunteers at Beverly Town though continue to maintain the club’s position as being for all with them credited with providing positive experiences for all its members.

East Riding FA Participation and Communication Officer Chris Johnson said, “As one of the counties biggest clubs the volunteers at Beverley Town must work incredibly hard to make sure that they can provide a safe and inclusive environment for people to play and enjoy football. We are delighted that we can celebrate their efforts and we thank everyone who is connected to the club for helping our county the best place to play end enjoy football.”

Beverly Town will now receive an automatic nomination for the Club of the Year award at the 2025 East Riding FA Grassroots Football Awards.
