New Comet's Centre launched
MORE OPPORTUNITES FOR DISABLED CHILDREN TO PLAY FOOTBALL
Heslerton Junior Football Club have become the first in the County to become an official Comets provider.
The 2-star England Football Accredited Club which is based closer to our border with North Riding FA have taken advantage of the support on offer from the County FA and England Football so that they can provide a safe place for disabled children aged 5-11 to start their football journey.
Comets is a recreational, pan-disability football programme for disabled boys and girls which sees players with a broad range of impairments and health conditions play together. It offers a flexible and inclusive way of playing, one that’s all about playfulness, friendships and having fun.
More than anything, Comets is football that breaks the old rules and replaces them with a brand new one.
East Riding FA Participation (Inclusion) Officer Rebecca Bolton said, "We are delighted that Heslerton JFC have become the regions first ever Comets provider and like us they are committed to providing more opportunities for disabled people to play and enjoy football. The clubs volunteers are working extremely hard to become fully inclusive and we look forward to helping them achieve this."
