EAST RIDING FA CLUB OF THE MONTH – JUNE 2023

The East Riding FA Club of the Month award recognizes the clubs in our county who are going above and beyond to create a fun, safe and inclusive environment for people to play and enjoy football.

The winner of this month’s award is AFC Tickton.

AFC Tickton are a 3-star England Football Accredited club who are going from strength. With over 500 registered players and a vast group of dedicated volunteers they are a club that is firmly at the heart of the community.

The club successfully completed its England Football Accreditation renewal, and they are able to offer a full male pathway with plans afoot to create a full female pathway during season 2023 / 24. The clubs Weetabix Wildcats session is one of the biggest in the county and they also offer walking football which is now oversubscribed. 

This season the club’s teams have enjoyed success across all age groups, and they continue to offer help, support and guidance to the coaches and managers who volunteer at the club.

It is not only on the pitch though where the club is excelling. Their partnership with Beverley Longcroft School and East Riding Leisure is a clear sign of their determination to provide the best possible facilities for the clubs members.

More recently the club was presented with the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Chairman's Sport Award which is no mean feat as you are they are the first grassroots football club to achieve this since the awards inception back in 2016. 

AFC Tickton is one of the largest clubs in the county and are recognised as providing a welcoming environment where people can enjoy grassroots football.

Chris Johnson, East Riding FA Participation and Communications Officer said: “AFC Tickton are one of the regions biggest grassroots clubs and play a huge role in the community they serve. The club has a dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly for its members and this award recognises their efforts”.
